Johnstone Textile Space (JTS) is a contemporary arts gallery in Johnstone, Renfrewshire. A dedicated contemporary arts space to celebrate cloth, community, and creativity. JTS host a year-round programme of exhibitions, events, films, literature, workshops, and performances.

As a volunteer at JTS I provide valuable support that enables JTS to deliver exhibitions, events, and outreach programmes. In turn, volunteering at JTS offers opportunities for learning, connection, and skill development.

Slow down, pick up a needle and thread, and discover the beauty of making without perfection.

Imperfect Stitch is a welcoming and creative textile workshop for adults (16+), exploring hand embroidery, visible mending, mixed media textiles, fabric collage, and expressive stitch techniques. Inspired by the idea that creativity doesn't need to be perfect, these sessions celebrate experimentation, texture, individuality, and mindful making.

Suitable for complete beginners and experienced makers alike, participants will learn simple embroidery stitches and textile techniques while creating unique pieces of textile art.

All materials provided. No experience is needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to have a go.
